Making a Hummus Music Video In Isolation

Synopsis: Urban Hummusologist washing his hands with increasing intensity during the four day journey of making the “Beige Gold” amid developing public health crisis.

Day 1 – Wash your hands carefully and purchase 500g of dried chick peas, 500g of hulled tahini, lemon, salt, garlic and cumin using dollar bills or government food coupons. Wash your hands again and contemplate the nature of legumes for the rest of the day.

Day 2 – Wash your hands carefully, wash the chickpeas with cold water. Soak in cold water, cover and leave in the fridge for 24 hours. Wash your hands carefully and continue contemplation until a short poem is produced. Check after 12 hours if water needs to be added.

Day 3 – Wash your hands carefully, wash the chick peas in cold water, transfer into a large pot with a lid, cover with water and cook between 2-4 hours and until the chickpeas are soft. To test, you can squeeze one between you fingers. (Just don’t forget to wash your hand after). Drain and cool after cooking and put in the fridge for the night.

Day 4 – Create a music playlist of about 2 hours. Wash your hands carefully and begin peeling the chick peas skins one by one. Once completed, wash your hands carefully, prepare 1L food processor with about 500g-600g cooked chickpeas, 250g-300g of tahini, 250ml-400ml cold water, juice from 1 lemon, salt, cumin and garlic according to flavour. Activate the food processor and sing. Once completed, transfer to a container to cool or put your face directly into the food processor to eat it fresh. Wash your hands (and face) carefully and if there are any water left, drink some.

Additions: Homemade German sourdough bread. Chickpeas, Chilli, Garlic, Salt, Cumin and fresh pepper. Boil an egg.
